Mira
2016
Informations
Made during a 10-day workshop in Rio de Janeiro, Mira proposes a fragmentary and desynchronized vision of this city and its inhabitants. This two-channel film splits and recombines moments to reveal the territory’s many analogous and contradictory facets.
The landscape is seen from above through a long focal point that compresses and controls the space. On the other hand, the inhabitants are discovered frontally, at eye level, but in a setting absent of any sign. They seem to wander aimlessly through their daily lives. With her discordant looks, Mira invites each eye to negotiate for itself.
